Take one pianist from Toulouse, the other from Liège, with their highly diverse influences and exceptional technique. Give them one of Europe's finest venues to play in. Bring to your ears the result of an instant connection between two established names on the Belgian, French and international jazz scene. Igor Gehenot began playing the piano at the age of 6. He entered the Maastricht Conservatory at 19. He then went on to perform as a sideman in a number of bands, before releasing two critically acclaimed albums of his own compositions on Igloo Records. Amaury Faye is one of the spearheads of the new generation of French jazzmen. The numerous awards he received between 2015 and 2017 confirm his reputation as an improviser and composer. He leads his own trio and released three albums of compositions including two in Hypnote Records's catalog: "Live in Brussels" and "Arise {suite}" in 2023. The meeting of these two exceptional pianists gave birth to an album in 2021 that they had the honor of presenting in the prestigious Salle Henri Leboeuf, in the heart of the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. A suspended moment, now set in stone thanks to a Live album.
